An Actual Freedom Screensaver The Actual Freedom Trust has released an actualism screensaver, which features text scrolling up the screen over nature images (complete with appropriate sounds) floating through a simulated universe. The screensaver will run on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 98SE, XP, NT4 and 2000. Although no minimum system requirements are expressly stipulated pre-release trials have indicated that the screensaver runs best with 64+ MB of RAM and 200+ MHz of CPU and an 8+ MB Graphics Card and a 16 Bit Sound Card (being a graphic-rich programme the more resources available the better the performance). This is not a conventional slide-show style of screensaver (although that option is available in the settings configuration) and it is recommended that the images be left to float freely. The sound may be turned on or off as per personal requirements. This screensaver contains seven selected articles from Richard’s writing and twenty four images from Peter’s photographs (which reflect the close-up wonderland that is suburban Byron Bay, Australia). The screensaver will install itself upon left-clicking the downloaded exe. file (the default setting is C:\Program Files\PhotoOp\) and comes with an uninstall function (it is a clean uninstall with no left-overs cluttering-up the registry). The downloadable exe. file has been virus-scanned with the latest Norton’s Anti Virus before uploading to the Internet but should, of course (being an internet exe. file), be thoroughly scanned before executing.
