RESPONDENT: Fear(s) I’ve had a few. I mentioned rodents in my last post. [vis.: ‘about facing fear. I’m afraid of rodents. Got it from Thomas Costain’s book ‘Ride With Me’, when I was far too young to have read it’]. How do you see specific ‘phobias?’ How about people in extreme circumstances? For example, concentration camp survivors? Could Richard, or one of you, tell how actual freedom works if faced with a real horror?

RICHARD: An actual freedom from the human condition works sagaciously as there is no ‘real horror’ here in this actual world – there is no fear in a flower, a tree, an ashtray, an armchair, a rock – not even disquietude, uneasiness, nervousness or apprehension ... let alone fear, anxiety, terror, horror or dread.

Put simply: horror is a feeling, not a fact.

RESPONDENT: Now, can I learn with you, as I am, or not? With Christ as the most important thing that’s ever happened to me? Yes? No?

RICHARD: Everyone starts from where they are (vis.: ‘as I am’ ) ... there is no other place to start from.

The obvious starting question I would be inclined to contemplate is this: how come, after five years of having the red print Mr. Yeshua the Nazarene as my role model, I still have mundane things spoiling my everyday life ... such as the fear of rodents I acquired from reading Mr. Thomas Costain’s book when I was far to young to have read it?

But only if peace-on-earth, in this lifetime, was my top priority, of course.
