Method:

[Dictionary Definition]: a knowledge producing procedure:

• scientific [from ‘scient-’ (f. Latin ‘scientia’ meaning ‘knowledge’) + ‘-ific’ (forming adjs. from ns. w. the sense ‘making, producing’)]: of a person, book, institution, etc.: occupied in or concerned with (esp. natural) science.
• method: a mode of procedure; a (defined or systematic) way of doing a thing, esp. (w. specifying wd or wds) in accordance with a particular theory or as associated with a particular person.
• ‘scientific method: a method of procedure that has characterised natural science [the branch of knowledge that deals with the natural or physical world; a physical science, as physics, chemistry, biology, geology, etc.] since the seventeenth century, consisting in systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses’. The Actualism Method:

A way that has become known as ‘the actualism method’:

I first labelled that way a ‘method’ in early 1998 when writing a response to being told to either send more information or draw a clearer map to paradise on a mailing list set-up under the auspices of the teachings Mr. Jiddu Krishnamurti brought into the world as ways, methods, paths, and so on, were anathema to his readers/listeners (despite the fact that they are rife throughout most, if not all, of those teachings). Vis.:

• [Co-Respondent]: ‘You’re going to have to send more information or draw a clearer map to paradise.
• [Richard]: ‘(...) What ‘I’ did, eighteen years ago, was to devise a remarkably effective method of ridding this body of ‘me’. (Now I know that methods are to be actively discouraged, in some people’s eyes, but this one worked). ‘I’ asked myself, each moment again: ‘How am I experiencing this moment of being alive’ (...)?
