Traditional Western religions are generally
monotheistic in that they propose a single creationist God. Belief involves reverence, worship, loyalty,
obedience and penance, all of which guarantees one a release from earthly suffering into an ‘other-world’
paradise, after physical death. Great importance is placed on leading a moral and good life in accord with the
codes and laws laid down by ancient texts and testaments.
Given that each tribal group believes and asserts their particular
God to be the ‘One and Only’ God, this belief-system has led to a plethora of Gods and religions on the
planet. Furthermore, multitudinous interpretations of the sacred texts, ancient scrolls and stone tablets
combined with ongoing re-interpretations and embellishments have led to the formation of numerous competing
factions and conflicting sects, even within a single religion.

true and right God, and whose religious beliefs, morals, values and ethical codes represents the only true and
right belief-system, has resulted in untold recriminations, horrendous persecutions, vitriolic conflicts and
religious wars that are ever ongoing …
