Hi,
Welcome to the Actual Freedom Mailing List.
You wrote in response to my post to No. 33 –

A direct experience of the actual is only possible when both
‘I’ as ego and ‘me’ as soul completely disappear, either temporarily in a pure consciousness
experience or permanent through the altruistic act of the voluntary ‘self’-sacrifice of all identity – a
‘self’-immolation – such that all which remains is the flesh and blood body being apperceptively aware.
-
In order to initiate this ‘self’-immolation and be able to
enjoy a ‘self’-less sensate and sensuous life I have actively questioned everything that constitutes my
‘self’. The first step was to examine the outer layer of my social programming, my moral and ethical code
of rules and beliefs as well as my social and spiritual convictions. As I discovered that all of these
beliefs, ideals and principles are invariably emotion-backed, I therefore became very interested in, and paid
specific attention to, my emotional investments in maintaining and defending these rules, beliefs and
convictions. Once I experientially understood the extent of the programming I had been subjected to I could
then break free from the automatic repetition of this social conditioning. Vineeto,

Dear actualists:
From what I have read on this site and
understand through my belief filters, I understand actualism and actual freedom and that which you speak of,
is that the flowering of the actualist’s state, is only after one has passed through states of deep malice,
dysfunctional behaviours disguising themselves as righteousness, greed, envy, dishonesty and hatred. And that
one has clearly understood the motives and beliefs for these behaviour(s) and brought about deliberate
conscious atonement for these actions.
I like your expression of ‘from what I ... understand through
my belief filters’ as it indicates a willingness to investigate what it is that lays deeper than your
belief filters.
What you call ‘states of deep malice, dysfunctional behaviours
disguising themselves as righteousness, greed, envy, dishonesty and hatred’ are not states that some
people have and some don’t. Fact is that ‘righteousness, greed, envy, dishonesty and hatred’ as
well as fear and nurture are all sourced in our animal-instinctual programming that each and every human being
is endowed with by blind nature. As you might know from your own experience, those instinctual passions are
apt to erupt from time to time and then the thin layer of civilization ruptures and reveals the always-present
underlying animal survival passions.
The normal solution has been to impose a social programming on each
new member of the species, a program specifically designed to keep one’s instinctual passions under control.
This programming is made up of an elaborate set of morals and ethics and when these suppressions fail to curb
the excesses, law and order is then maintained at the point of a gun – police, army and the strong arm of
justice.
The spiritual solution, both Eastern and Western, is founded on the
mythical concept that human existence on earth is a ‘necessary suffering’ and that ultimate peace and
fulfillment lies ‘elsewhere’, after physical death. All spiritual fairy tales can be broadly summed up as
– If one behaves well in one’s earthly life then one is to be rewarded in an after-life, if not, one is
doomed to eternal suffering.
Actualism offers a third alternative.
A way has now been pioneered to
‘re-program’ the human brain such that one can safely delete one’s instilled social programming of
morals, ethics, beliefs, spiritual superstitions and psittacisms. One is then able to ‘dig deeper’ and
evince an extinction of the insidious influence of the genetically-encoded instinctual animal passions of
fear, aggression, nurture and desire. iven that each and every individual human being is both socially and
genetically programmed it is therefore purely a personal task to free oneself from malice and sorrow. One
simply needs to unselfishly devote one’s life to the pioneering task of irrevocable change by seizing the
immediate opportunity of investigating the Human Condition in operation in oneself ... as one’s ‘self’.
Introduction to Actual Freedom, Spiritual
Solutions
As an actualist I acknowledge the fact that I am born with
instinctual passions and programmed through my social conditioning and I also acknowledge the fact that it is
possible to change human nature.
In the course of practicing actualism and exploring the human
condition in me I have experienced what you call ‘states of deep malice, dysfunctional behaviours
disguising themselves as righteousness, greed, envy, dishonesty and hatred’ but I also knew how to
explore and understand them and thus bring them to the bright light of awareness which always renders them
impotent.
I understand that these very acts if worked
with consciously and with deep honesty, are the very things that can create the conditions to bring about a
conscious aware change in how one experiences their personal universe of desire(s).
I am not clear what you mean by ‘personal universe of
desire(s)’ ?
What I am now able to experience more and more is the actuality of
this physical universe we live in, which is perfect and pure, magical and effervescent. When the filters of
one’s desires as well as the filters of one’s fears, one’s loves, one’s sorrows and one’s
resentments are removed from one’s psyche, then one is able to experience sensately and reflectively the
actual physical universe for the first time – as opposed to the affective and cerebral ‘self’-centred
experience of a personal universe that everyone usually experiences. This clear-eyed sensate experience is
what we call a pure consciousness experience (PCE).
I understand that I create these states
(dysfunctional behaviours) through resistance to experience desired states in my personal universe of
understanding and desire.
No. ‘Dysfunctional behaviours’ are part and parcel of
the human condition. The ‘desired states in my personal universe of understanding and desire’ are
also part of the human condition.
The actual physical universe is not a creation of anyone’s
concepts, beliefs and feelings. It exists independently of whatever I think, feel or believe.
I ask myself, how does one or I become an
actualist in a very real conscious sense, unless I have first passed through these deep states of
dysfunctional behaviours? I understand that unless one has passed first through these states, actualism would
only be an intellectual belief system, rather like placing somebody on top of Everest via helicopter and not
allowing them to do the actual work of meeting the ‘faces’ of Everest.
An actualist is someone who practices the method of actualism in
order to become happy and harmless, i.e. free from malice and sorrow.
The method of actualism is very simple. You ask yourself the
question ‘How am I experiencing this moment of being alive’ and then proceed to investigate every feeling
and belief that prevents you from being happy and harmless now, the only moment you can experience being
alive.
You will be surprised how much you can find out about yourself,
about beliefs, feelings and passions, in a reasonably short period of time.
I read once someone say ‘How can you trust
a person to speak to others of such things unless he/she has him or her self not passed through these states
of hatred, greed, malice, etc. themselves and become conscious of their personal motivations i.e. Why they
acted in such a way... Beliefs concepts etc...’
In the course of my investigation I not only experienced intense
feelings of ‘hatred, greed, malice’ but also intense feelings of compassion, love, unity and bliss.
But in order to have the sensate-only experience of a pure consciousness experience I proceeded to free myself
of all of my beliefs and investigated all of my feelings. The unbiased questioning of the undesirable or bad
emotions as well as the desirable or good ones is what makes actualism 180 degrees opposite to the spiritual
practice of avoiding any questioning of the tender instinctual passions.
Dear actualists: your site is a wonderful
inspiring challenging refreshing viewpoint I thank you
When you begin to apply the method of actualism you will find out
for yourself that actualism is far more than a viewpoint. A viewpoint is based on opinions, feelings and
beliefs whereas actualism is based on common sense, sensate experience and facts and offers a method that
works to free oneself from malice and sorrow, in this lifetime.
It is freely available for those who dare.
