Irene ~ Before and After

1.) Irene who had described her experience of life in Virtual Freedom –

Irene (before 1997): ‘I have discovered my niche in life, I do not miss being in distress, being frustrated, being under constant pressure and forever running on nervous energy. (…) Without feelings running one’s life, one is deliciously free to thoroughly enjoy one’s stay here. No longer plagued by petty arguments, pathetic one-upmanships, paltry manipulations of others – or feelings of being a victim – I relish being here-on-earth virtually every moment of my life.’’ Richard’s Journal 1997, Article Twenty-eight, p 180

And –

Irene (before 1997): ‘I am relatively harmless and virtually free from sorrow.’ Richard’s Journal 1997, Article Thirty-two, p 212

2.)  Irene who scorned Virtual Freedom when she found something she felt to be superior –

Irene: ‘Living with R. made it eventually clear to me that it is not nature that is to blame but the overlaid male interpretation of human life; how it should be instead! In other words knowing better than nature, the universe itself.’ Irene: the name of the game 3, Listbot, Sun Oct 18 06:38:28 1998 EDT

3.) [Irene] then redefined the word meaning something entirely different –

Irene: First of all, in order to understand one another I see that I have not made it clear to you yet that I don’t subscribe any more to Richard’s goal of getting rid of ‘me’, my identity, my emotions. This is what I meant when I said that I had seen through Richard’s method and his view that this is what freedom means.

To me freedom means: to be free from the human conditioning (i.e. the belief in the man-made mistakes in their interpretations of being human and of nature in general). That what I had called ‘virtual freedom’.

The human condition is best described as the basic givens that accompany being human. That what we consist of, all the aspects that make up being human, all the magical characteristics like legs to walk, hands to manipulate, heart to keep the blood flowing through each and every atom of our body, eyes that are not only for seeing, but also to express ourselves to others by baring the state of our innermost being, be that in a state of joy, love or anger.’ Irene to Vineeto, re name of the game 2,Listbot, Wed Oct 14 08:28:40 1998 EDT
