The Influence of Eastern Philosophies

1.) The influence of Eastern ‘wisdom’ began to have a profound effect on academic, scientific and philosophical thinking from about the mid 19th Century onwards, but the mass movement of followers only gathered momentum in the later half of the 20th Century. In these earlier years in particular, theoretical studies such as quantum physics, cosmology theory, mathematics, philosophy, sociology, environmental theory and psychology were dramatically influenced by Eastern philosophies – giving rise to the oft-touted dimwitticism that ‘science is only now discovering what the East has always known’.
